Frances Alford  Davies

Died 8th February 1904

Aged fifty eight years.

Frances Alford Chubb was born to Harry and Henrietta Chubb,in Islington in 1845.

Frances Chubb married Benjamin Ferrand Davies, a metal merchant and coal agent, in September 1877 in Kensington. They had two children:

1. Hubert Trevor Davies,   b. 1878, Sidcup, Kent, UK ,   d. 1894, East Preston, Sussex,   (Age 16 years)

2. Henrietta Frances Davies, M.D.,   b. 25 Jan 1880, Sidcup, Kent, ,   d. 1950, Winchester, Hampshire   (Age 69 years)

In 1881 the family were living in Chislehurst. For reasons not apparent, presumably on business, Bernard went to Tasmania in

1886 and died shortly after, on 20 February 1886, in New Norfolk, Tasmania, Australia, at the age of 39, and was buried in New Norfolk. [https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/249426600/benjamin-ferrand-davies]  His death certificate states that he died of heart disease. He left an estate of £6673

In 1891 Frances and her son Hubert were living with an aunt at “Woodview”, St Botolphs Road, Heene, Worthing

Frances’s son, Hubert, died from pneumonia, phthisis and haemoptysis, for 3 days (coughing blood) at "Woodview" 30 May 1894, aged 16.
