Friends of Hastings Cemetery

We know that Sarah remarried, as on the CWG record for Thomas Farrier, it is recorded - Son of Mrs. Sarah Ann Shanks, of 21, St. George's Rd., West Hill, Hastings.

Most of the details of this account I found at http://www.hellfirecorner.co.uk/farrier2.htm

The author, Mike Farrier (to whom thanks for use of the material) mentions an obituary notice for John in a Hastings newspaper, December 1916, and the photograph of seven Farrier related men, serving during the first World War, including two sons from the first marriage and a son in law, G. Pepper and two Shanks sons.  Arthur Cain Shanks died 9th May 1915 and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial
