Farrier Family, p.4

Walter's body seems not to have been recovered;  the ship sank within minutes, and as he was a member of the engine room staff it’s unlikely he had time to escape.

He is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine's 'Memorial to Those Lost' on Plymouth Hoe.
