DEATH OF MR. GEORGE JENNER.

Hastings and St Leonards Observer -
Not merely the borough of Hastings, but the district for many miles round, will read with regret the announcement of the death of Mr. George Jenner, which took place at Laton-
The deceased gentleman retired from business two years ago, and since that time has passed a quiet but useful and religious life in the locality where he died. For more than a quarter of a century he lived in Udimore, and during nearly the whole of that period he maintained a name before the county as an eminent agriculturist.
As an active politician also Mr. Jenner was well known. He was an earnest Liberal, and into the struggles for party supremacy in the borough of Rye and the rural division he was wont to throw himself heart and soul. On leaving Udimore, he was presented, by a number of admiring friends, with a handsome testimonial, and, but for the death of the Mayor of Rye at about the time, a public dinner would also have been given him. Not one will have a harsh word of him whose remains were lowered into the grave on Thursday. Those who differed with him most upon public matters were among his warmest personal admirers. Englishmen know how to disagree without hating each other.

HASTINGS. IN THE PLEASANT RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT OF BLACKLANDS. -
THE PROPERTY is situated in LATON-
It is substantially built in brick, cement, and slate, and contains dining, drawing, and morning rooms, seven bed and dressing rooms, kitchen, good wine and coal cellars, and other offices. In front of the house is a well grown ornamental garden, and at the rear a large and productive kitchen garden, well stocked with wall and other fruit, a conservatory, and a tool house.
The Residence is nicely placed, the views from the south side being very pleasant, embracing an uninterrupted look out over the town to the sea. The district in which it is placed is wholly of private houses, and to those seeking a modern villa of moderate size in a pleasant locality, for occupation or investment, this property offers an excellent opportunity. Stone building, the house has always been in the late owner's occupation, and possession will be given on completion of the purchase.
The House may be viewed on application to the Auctioneers. Particulars and Conditions of Sale may be had at the Place of Sale; of Messrs Ellis, Bickersteth, and Ellis, Solicitors, Portland House, Basinghall-
