There are not a few old friends of the Northumberland Fusiliers in Singapore who will hear with regret of the death on Monday, 18th May, of Capt. William Somervell, who retired from the regiment some years ago. The cause of death was aneurism.
The 1st Battalion, which is at present doing field work and route marches through Dorsetshire, heard of Capt. Somervell's death too late to send a party to the funeral.
