The Funeral
The funeral of the deceased gentleman [
George Wilson] was held yesterday (Friday) afternoon at the Borough Cemetery.  The cortege consisted a of four horse hearse and several pair horse carriages.  At the St Matthew's Church, the first part of the service was read by the Rev. H. Brenan and the Rev. N. J. Smith, the former also being in attendance at the grave. …….. A great many wreaths from sympathising relatives and friends were received, and conveyed to the Cemetery behind the hearse in Mrs Wilson's private brougham.

The coffin bore the inscription : "George Wilson, departed this life March 20th, 1892, aged 75." …….. The deceased gentleman was the oldest Past Master of the Phoenix Lodge, No. 173, the representative of which travelled from London specially to attend the funeral as a mark of respect.

A BENEFACTOR TO ST. MATTHEWS.
The death occurred on 3rd ins.  at her residence. Sydney Lodge, Sedlescombe Road South, St. Leonards, of Mrs. Ann Wilson, aged 97 years.

She was the widow of late Mr. Gorge Wilson, and both will be remembered for their benefaction to St. Matthew's Church, especially the Parish Room…

LEONARDS-ON-SEA, Occupying a fine position on high ground in one of the best residential parts of  St. Leonards, close to the Tram Route and conveniently situated for shops and The Front.  Well built of brick and weather tiling, and tile roof.  The accommodation comprises Three reception rooms, 7 bedrooms, boxroom, bathroom (h. and c.), kitchen and well-planned domestic offices.  Good garden with a frontage of 40ft.
