Hastings and St. Leonards News - Friday 01 April 1892
Death of M. George Wilson.— We regret to announce the death of Mr. George Wilson, of Sydney Lodge, Sedlescombe Road, who died on Saturday.  Mr. Wilson has been for many years a resident at St Leonards, he was a man of most generous temperament and liberal disposition

Hastings and St Leonards Observer - Saturday 02 April 1892
Death of Mr. George Wilson.—We deeply regret to report the death on Saturday of our respected fellow townsman, Mr. George Wilson, of Sydney Lodge, Sedlescombe-road.  He was a benevolent man, a warm friend, and an ardent sportsman.  On the Monday preceding his death he was out with the hounds, and on Tuesday was in London all day, where he caught a severe chill.

Dr. Nicholson (who had been his medical adviser whilst living in London), and Dr. Trollope found him to be suffering 'from bronche-pneumonia, which, owing to his advanced age, resisted all treatment

He was a liberal benefactor to St, Matthew's Church, built the parish room, and his loss will be much regretted by his large circle of friends and Freemasons, of which body he was leading member.

Mr. Wilson was also the head of the firm
of Cording and Co., of 19, Piccadilly.
